Jane and Noah’s NC Mountain Wedding at The Inn at Crestwood in Boone NC

One last 2016 wedding post before we’re on to blogging the 2017 season. Jane and Noah shared an amazing day with their friends and family in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Noah gets our entrepreneur of the year award for his creative favors. His company “Sock Club” designed custom wedding socks for all of the guests. Too many lovely details to list. Check out all of the photos from the legendary Boonetown Story below.

Lauren and Corey’s Wedding Blowing Rock Wedding at The Inn at Crestwood

So so much fun working with Lauren and Corey. They created an intimate, stylish and fun atmosphere and celebrated their wedding with close friends and family at The Inn at Crestwood tucked away between Boone and Blowing Rock NC. The early fall flowers were so lush and beautiful and somehow matched the bridesmaids dresses to a T! The cake from Ugga Mugga bakery was one of my favorites of the season. Check out the stunning photos below by Adele Lee Photography.

Caitlin and Jason's Blowing Rock Wedding at Camp Sky Ranch

I know I say this about all of our clients but Caitlin was such a dream to work with. Not only that, she and her mom Lynn were the most compatible and loving Mother/Daughter planning team in the history of the universe. They were so supportive and considerate when it came to each others vision for the wedding - which made my job as diplomat super easy!

So not only was everyone lovely to be around, it was an absolutely stunning wedding and the music was awesome and I got to work with my favorite vendors. Oh and on top of all of that, the weather was perfect….

So a little bit about the décor and details which were very well thought out. Caitlin didn’t want to “over-rustic” the already rustic Camp Sky Ranch so she brought Philosophy Flowersin to sort of take things in a different direction. They decided on a mixed metals meets garden party motif set off by unique signage by Leen Jean Studios. The pièce de résistance was that Kellyincorporated Caitlin and Jason’s love of craft beer into the décor by decorating with hops! The end result was nothing short of spectacular as you can see below in the photos below by Fletcher and Fletcher Photography

Elizabeth and Ross' Wedding at the Inn at Crestwood in Blowing Rock NC

“I went into the wedding planning process knowing that I'd need some help since I was planning an out of town event. From the moment I spoke with Meris on the phone, I knew she was the perfect planning partner for the kind of wedding we wanted to have.
Her #1 quality is that she really listens. She doesn't have her own agenda; she simply wants to help you execute YOUR vision perfectly. She listened to my ideas and provided me vendor recommendations that were totally on point. She was incredibly responsive to my calls, emails, and general neuroses.
The week before, especially the day before and the day of, she exuded a calm professionalism and sense of organization that made everyone around us feel calm. Every detail was perfectly executed. There was literally nothing that didn't EXCEED my expectations. Meris understands people–she gets quirky brides. I so appreciated her willingness to make anything we wanted happen.
I cannot recommend Meris highly enough. I literally could not have had my wedding without her invaluable help and insights. She was born to do this job and she is amazingly talented. She's the best!!” – Elizabeth

So… not only did Elizabeth and I have a great time planning, this wedding was hands down the best party of the season!!! The top priority for Elizabeth and Ross was FUN! See for yourself. The pictures from Jennie Andrews Photography say it all.

Wedding Locations in the mountains of the North Carolina High Country

Whether you live here or are planning a destination wedding in the Boone/Blowing Rock area, there are tons of creative options for places to hold your mountain dream wedding.

Here's a list of some of my favorite places in the High Country:

The Taylor House Inn

This beautiful B and B in Valle Crucis makes it easy for the wedding party and close family to all stay together and not have to go anywhere! Wedding and reception can both take place on site. Also, they have a wonderful kitchen with lots of room for your caterer to work.

Along those same lines, you can also rent out the

Inn at Crestwood

for your wedding. Located between Boone and Blowing Rock on Shulls Mill Road, they are larger than the Taylor House and have a great deal of options to accommodate you. It's also a place where you can have your wedding somewhere else and book them just for the reception. They have both indoor and outdoor options. Their caterer is "in house".

Chetola Resort

in Blowing Rock is another way to go. There are plenty of places for out of town guests and the wedding party to stay whether it's at the Lodge or renting out condo's near by. Typically brides like to get married down by the lake and then have a tent nearby or closer to the lodge but there are a lot of different choices and configurations that you can explore if you book early enough. They also provide "in house" catering.

Green Park Inn is completely renovated and booking for the 2011 Season. You can have wedding and reception there or just the reception. They have “in house” catering by Chef James Welch formerly of Crippens Country Inn and Restaurant and a couple of different options for banquet rooms. Needless to say it’s convenient since all of your guests can stay together on site.

The Meadowbrook Inn

has a banquet room that you can use as well as their sun room in conjunction with the bar for a smaller affair. They also have an upstairs room that can be held as a rain location if you choose to have your ceremony outside. They’re conveniently located right in the heart of downtown Blowing Rock

If you are planning to have the wedding and reception at two different locations, we have a couple of historic chapels in the area that are great for smaller weddings. There are also a handful of churches that will host your wedding even if you are not a member of the church. There are public parks and gardens that allow weddings in the Boone area. Check out Daniel Boone Native Gardens and Shady Grove nursery.

I'm not going to list all of the venues that are available to use right now but... there is certainly not a shortage of breathtaking locations in the High Country to plan your special day.
