Taylor and John’s wedding was as gorgeous as it was easy breezy and fun. Taylor’s family owns the Historic Gideon Ridge Inn in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Her family has shared many special memories there over the years. St. Mary’s of the Hills Episcopal Church was the perfect complement to the Old School elegance of the Mountain Inn.
Guests were greeted at the door with French 75s and proceeded through the main house to cocktail hour on the back terrace. Hunter Womble, Head Chef at Gideon, created a masterful menu that was perfect for guests mingling about an exploring the property. My absolute favorite was the build your own Tomato Sandwich Station!!!
Once the Bride and Groom returned from the church they dug up the bourbon (buried a month before to ward off bad weather) and shared it with their friends. They then had a private dinner for two on the Sunrise Terrace before joining their guests under a beautiful tent in the back yard and dancing the night away to the sweet tunes by Emerald Empire Band. Overall one of the most enjoyable weddings we’ve ever been a part of. Literally the perfect blend of sophistication and playfulness!

Cait and Adam’s have a serious sense of style and subtle elegance. They brought their own special Manhattan sense of flair to the NC Mountains. Their guests stayed in Blowing Rock NC where they hosted their Welcome Party on the lawn of The Inn at Ragged Gardens followed by an intimate rehearsal dinner at The Best Cellar.
On the wedding day, guests were shuttled to The Overlook Barn on Beech Mountain where they hosted an intimate ceremony in the Cliffside Barn followed by a cozy cocktail hour in a tented lounge in Mary’s Meadow and then an upscale family style dinner by Reids Catering in the Big Barn.
This wedding had everything! A His and Hers pour over coffee station, dreamy signature cocktails, Doughnut Bar, Sweet serenade by the Maid of Honor, Icecream truck, VW Bus Photobooth, amazing music from Emerald Empire Band, cozy lounge areas around every corner. A seriously fun and thoughtful event perfectly executed by a crazy awesome team of local vendors.

Wills and Chaney’s wedding was nothing short of spectacular. Guests enjoyed a 5 star Rehearsal Dinner under a beautiful Sperry Tent on the lawn of Westglow Resort and Spa in Blowing Rock NC with live music from Tellico, one of our favorite local bands.
On the wedding day, the ceremony was also held on the lawn at Westglow and then guests were shuttled to the Blowing Rock Country Club where they danced the night away to the rocking tunes of Sleeping Booty.
Florals by Millefleurs were out of this world and Almond Leaf Photography captured the day with grace and elegance. We were truly honored to be a part of this stellar team of vendors.

There’s a lot of BUZZ in the Wedding Industry about a the misuse of the term “Day-of Planning”. Honestly probably 6 out of 10 wedding inquiries we receive are asking for Day-of services.
But here’s the truth - there is simply no way any Wedding Planner in her right mind would convince you to only work with them for one day only. One day isn't enough!
As a Planner, it's my nature to be helpful. I want to help you be the very best host or hostess to your guests on your wedding day. I want you to have a super fun filled relaxing day that you will actually remember...because you won't be worrying about things like,
"Oh, I think I forgot to tell my day-of coordinator about the mariachi band that's coming at the end of the night."
What I offer my clients is Wedding Management. The most amazing benefit of Wedding Management is that I offer you unlimited email correspondence with me from the day you book. That way, if you have a question, or you want to book a mariachi band to close out the night, you can ask me those questions as they occur to you...and not at 4 weeks before your wedding day - That’s is when most "day-of" coordinators start communicating with you, and by then, it's too late!
There are many, many more benefits to Wedding Management that I couldn't possibly list, but I would love to tell you more in person! You can click here to schedule a time to chat with me.
I can't wait to hear all about your wedding and how we can work together!
Alex and David's wedding was just flat out our "coolest" wedding of the season. Words cannot describe...
Check out the Feature on Offbeat Bride. We're glad they thought it was as amazing as we did!!!
From the eclectic lawn games to the Tapp Trailer complete with exciting local beers. The amazing farm to table food and desert spread with bold color blocked place settings. The well curated playlist to the dress and the hair. All of the things... That and the fact that we love Camp Sky Ranch weddings. The homegrown summer camp theme makes everyone feel nostalgic! What a day.

Kind Words From The Bride...
"Working with Meris was one of the best decisions we made during our two-year long engagement. The month leading up to the wedding was the calmest I felt during the whole wedding planning process, and it had everything to do with her. After our first meeting a month before the event when we went over pages of notes for the wedding day (she brought up every single thing I had thought of over my whole two years of planning during that one meeting, and answered every question I had with ease) I knew that everything was going to be fine on the actual day because she and her team were on it. Even though I had planned a lot of the wedding myself and felt like I wanted to do as much as I could to help on the day of, I would not have been able to enjoy my wedding without hiring Meris and her team. Everything had to be set up and taken down in one day at our venue, and it was done so flawlessly and effortlessly: you notice them there because they are awesome and super nice, but at the same time you don't notice all the work they are doing behind the scenes! It's true that you really do feel like yours is the only wedding Meris is working on in the weeks leading up to the event because she is super responsive and also has a very calming presence (and it is sad when the wedding is over and you don't get to do Google hangout calls with Meris every week). Thanks to Meris and her team of "design savvy worker bees", my family, fiance and I were able to be totally present in the day, and that was invaluable!"
Alex and Meredith's wedding had so many dreamy boho details! We love the Macrame accents. Handmade table runners by the bride...yes please! (Check out Meredith's Etsy Store Fig and Fiber!).
The light airy mix of greens and whites in mismatched vases on the tables complemented the barn perfectly; as did the simple, crisp white place settings accented by a small jar of local honey for guests to take home. Meredith's easy breezy "Free People" dress was one of our favorites of the season.
We also loved the traditional Appalachian Apple Stack Cake Meredith chose. It was the first time that Beth from Ugga Mugga Bakery had ever created one but I bet it won't be the last. It was seriously amazing!!!
"Appalachian lore suggests that the stack cake originated as an Appalachian wedding cake. Guests would each bring a layer of cake and the bride’s family would receive them and stack them together with prepared apple butter or applesauce. Supposedly, the number of layers on the cake indicated the couple’s popularity." - Simply Appalachian

Kaylyn was an inspiring bride to work with; not only was she planning a wedding, but was also planning a move and a new job! She made it look easy and every time we met it felt like friends catching up;
I love when connections are made outside of the wedding bubble! She looked gorgeous on their day and you could feel the excitement throughout the wedding party and guests. Millefluer’s flowers were amazing and tied the lake house reception together perfectly. Details on the cake and buffet stood out and the whole team at Blowing Rock Country Club was great to work with! Wayfaring Wanderer’s shots are so breathtaking; Jessica does a great job of capturing candids with so many feelings! I think Kaylyn and Karl’s wedding party had some of the best dance moves and they brought the house down all night long!

Emily and Jake's wedding was simply stunning. As you can probably tell, we do a ton of weddings up at The Overlook Barn and I'm always amazed at how different each wedding is. The florals from Edenhouse were absolutely out of this world and the desert spread from Ugga Mugga Bakery...to die for! Oh and lets not forget all of the great fun details from A Bushel and a Peck and Miss Match Rentals. We had so much fun getting creative mapping out the miss matched goblets and place settings. And shout out to Mother of the Bride Sharon for the sweetest Mom of the year award!!!! We seriously have the best clients : ) Check out the gallery below from Bekah Morton Photography!

So so so so excited to share this styled shoot that was a true labor of love pieced together by an amazing group of local vendors. We planned and dreamed for over 6 months and when the big day finally came, the weather less than ideal but such is life right? In true wedding day fashion, everyone pulled together and made the best of things and we got all of the shots that we could in between raindrops and gale force winds. I am just so incredibly in love the finished product and over the moon that it's featured in Junebug Weddings!!!!
The biggest thanks to Michelle Lyerly Photography and The Laurel Collective for jumping on board at the get go and bringing the concept to life and for the support and enthusiasm from Reid's Cafe & Catering Co., Lucky Penny, Shear Shakti, Mountain Family Lodge, Fuschia Moss Floral Design and of course our lovely models.
